Scribe's Report

Skip Navigation

This is a special print-out of Canon Lore, which you may find useful to take Canon lore to events with you. The printout is a listing of everyone in the Canon Lore database who has awards, optionally limited to a specified branch. It's in a plain black and white format that will print reliably and efficiently. It was originally designed for the Provost of Scribes, hence the name, but can be used for a variety or purposes. Court heralds may find this useful to provide to their majesties, while group heralds may find it useful to conduct an audit of everyone in the group's awards.

This report shows a faithful copy of the Canon Lore database at the instant that you press 'Begin'. It's rather smart and does this automatically, so even if you use it at three in the morning, you'll get the latest copy. Please note that once you have printed this report out, it begins to get out of date. Canon Herald and her team update the database weekly, sometimes even daily, fixing a myriad of small old details as well as entering new awards, so please refresh your paper copies regularly, and check the electronic copy of Canon Lore before reporting errors.

The password protects the mundane names of award recipients, which is used for cross referencing purposes - most people have several names before they settle on a final one. If you are a group herald, seneschals, barons and baronesses, royalty, kingdom officers or working on a special project for Canon Herald and need a password to access mundane names, please contact Canon Herald to discuss conditions of use. If you don't need mundane names, then you can go right ahead and get the report right now without a password.

You'll find all kinds of options to customise your report hidden under the words 'Go to advanced search instead'. If you are feeling adventurous, or would like to customise your report further (for example choose a branch to limit the report to or decide whether you want to include a summary of known awards and reigns at the bottom of the report) then please use this option. To print this report click the button, feed your printer with paper, and press Print on your browser.

Notes on limitations

This version doesn't follow chains of branch allegiance. If you select Rowany, for example, it's not clever enough to know that you also mean the colleges of St Augustine and St Ursula or the cantons of Stowe on the Wowld and Hawksreach. Mortar will no doubt add brains to the software if enough people ask him kindly, but in the meantime we expect that you are quite clever enough to work around this.

This current version also will only list people who have received at least one award. While Canon Lore aims to lists everyone who has registered a name or device in Lochac, this list will not show you entries where a person has registered a name and not yet received an award. This is because it would be very difficult to program the report to do otherwise. Please use Canon Lore itself rather than this report if you wish to check how to spell a person who has not yet received an award.

Leave blank to exclude mundane names from the report.
